3. In today's lesson you will learn to ask someone what they are going to do in the future. Martin Learner talks about sports with his office mates.

7. MARTIN: Good morning, Howard. Good morning, Waleed.
8. HOWARD: Can we talk to you?
9. MARTIN: Sure. Come in.

11. WALEED: We're going to watch baseball tonight. Can you go with us?
12. MARTIN: Not tonight. I'm going to take the children to their grandparents.
13. HOWARD: Aren't they in Chicago?
14. MARTIN: My parents are in Chicago. My wife's parents are in Ocean City. We're going to Ocean City.
15. WALEED: Are the children going to stay in Ocean City?
16. MARTIN: Yes. They're going to stay for five days.
17. HOWARD: That's nice.
18. WALEED: Does your son like that?
19. MARTIN: Oh, yes. His friends are there.
20. WALEED: My son doesn't like visiting his grandparents. They live in the country.
21. MARTIN: His friends are here.
22. WALEED: That's right.
23. HOWARD: Doesn't he like his family?
24. WALEED: Yes, he likes them. He likes his friends too.
25. HOWARD: You can't go with us tonight.
26. WALEED: Can you go on Thursday?
27. MARTIN: Sure.
28. WALEED: OK. Let's go on Thursday.
29. MARTIN: Are you going to watch tonight?
30. HOWARD: Sure. And we're going to watch on Thursday.
31. WALEED: See you later.
32. MARTIN: Goodbye.

34. CARA: Hello, Martin. May I come in?
35. MARTIN: Of course.

37. CARA: Do you and your wife like swimming?
38. MARTIN: Yes.
39. CARA: Do you like to watch swimming?
40. MARTIN: On television?
41. CARA: No. My daughter is going to swim in Baltimore on Saturday. Can you come to watch?
42. MARTIN: Is it a swim meet?
43. CARA: Yes, it is. She's going to swim tonight too.
44. MARTIN: Sit down. Please. I'm going to phone my wife.
45. DIALING PHONE
46. CARA: Thanks.
47. MARTIN: Hello, Eileen. What are we going to do on Saturday? Cara's daughter is going to swim in Baltimore on Saturday. Cara, in the afternoon?
48. CARA: Yes, she's going to swim in the afternoon.
49. MARTIN: She's going to swim in the afternoon. It's a swim meet. OK. Goodbye.

51. MARTIN: We can come on Saturday.
52. CARA: Can your daughter come?
53. MARTIN: No, she's visiting her grandparents in Ocean City. Can you come to our house after the meet?
54. CARA: No, thank you. We have to come home. She has a meet here on Sunday.

30. MARTIN: Can you come to Baltimore? We're going to have jazz at the harbor.

49. LEE: My wife is singing in Dallas this week. I'm going to Miami on Saturday. Can my son come to stay with your son Saturday and Sunday?
50. MARTIN: My son is visiting his grandparents. Does your son like swim meets?
51. LEE: He likes swimming.
52. MARTIN: My wife and I are going to a swim meet on Saturday. Does he like jazz?
53. LEE: He plays jazz in high school.
54. MARTIN: We're going to hear some jazz on Sunday.
55. LEE: Where?
56. MARTIN: At the harbor. Waleed is going to come with us.

58. We answer questions about future activities with the verb "be" plus "going to" plus an activity verb. For example "I am going to play." Listen to some statements about future activities.
Gelecek zamanlı sorulara cevap verirken “be” “olmak” fiilinden sonra –“cek/-cak” anlamı vermek amacıyla “going to” kullanılır. Örneğin “I am going to play” denir. Gelecek zamanlı bazı örnek cümleler veriyoruz, dinleyin.
