3. Today you will learn how to ask for directions with the aid of a map. Martin has lost his way in his car and stops to ask several people for help.

21. MARTIN: Turn right and go two roads.

22. MAN: Martin Luther King School is there.

23. MARTIN: Wonderful. Thank you.

26. WOMAN: Goodbye Mr. Learner.

27. MARTIN: Thank you very much for your time. Goodbye. Where is the airport?

28. WOMAN: Oh, the airport. It's on Nixon Road.

29. MARTIN: Where is Nixon Road?

30. WOMAN: Turn left. Go straight ahead. Look for the sign.

31. MARTIN: I have a map. Please show me.

32. WOMAN: Oh, good.

33. UNFOLDING MAP

34. WOMAN: Look here. We are here. That's the school.

35. MARTIN: I see.

36. WOMAN: Now look there. That's the airport. Turn left. Go straight ahead. Then turn on Nixon Road.

37. MARTIN: Thank you very much. Goodbye.

40. MARTIN: Hello.

41. MAN: You again.

42. MARTIN: Yes. Sorry. I'm looking for the airport.

43. MAN: O.K. Show me your map.

44. UNFOLDING MAP

45. MAN: Where is the airport? Hmm. We are here.

46. MARTIN: I know that.

47. MAN: The airport is there. Do you see the airport?

48. MARTIN: Yes.

49. MAN: Look at this road. Go straight ahead. Then turn right. That is Nixon Road.

50. MARTIN: O.K. Thanks. Goodbye.

3. In today's lesson you will practice telling others what you possess (or have). Martin Learner has a car. He has arrived at the Seattle airport. He is going to drive his rented car to the city, but he doesn't know the way.

20. CLERK: I don't know. It's on the water. Look at this street. Take that street to the market.

21. MARTIN: O.K. Now. Where is the harbor?

22. CLERK: The harbor?

23. MARTIN: Yes. I'm going to take the ferry.

24. CLERK: Oh, that harbor! It's near the market.

25. MARTIN: Tell me which street.

26. CLERK: Look at the map. The market is here. The ferry is there.
